Another start. Another journey.

Hey there gorgeous! Thought I’d do a quick post before I got on my grind. I have to go to the grocery store and study for TWO tests tonight. It’s gonna be a long one but this is the stuff champions are made of! πŸ˜‰
Today marks the start of a (continuation) of a new journey for me. And that is: a journey toward health. I’ve been on again off again for so long and it’s about time to see this thing through. My mom and I are in this together!
If there’s anything I’ve learned it’s that I have to hold myself accountable and my outcomes are, essentially, the direct results of my DECISIONS. Nothing “just happens”, it’s all about decisions. I am on this journey to make peace with myself, and to take care of my temple. Of course, looking good is important but I’ve truly learned that vanity only gets you so far. Health, and inner beauty get you so much farther! I am genetically predisposed to certain illnesses already and don’t want to exacerbate them.
I cannot continue to mistreat the only body I have. I don’t want to be on all types of medication when I’m older. I don’t have horrid eating habits but they aren’t necessarily good either and I don’t workout. Ever. Ever.
So what are the goals I have in mind?
No specific number on the scale. Just a healthy, comfortable weight for me and my body type. I have no intentions of being skinny.
I want to eat well (mostly foods with actual nutritional value) drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and feel better.

I figured it would be nice to have something for accountability so I’m putting it on the blog. It has definitely helped with my hair journey! And I blog about everything else so I might as well throw this in the mix too! Plus, if anyone who happens to read this is on a similar journey/ has been through it, it could be a great venue for support and encouragement.

On to the fun stuff! I thought it would be nice to do a weekly challenge to give myself something to loom forward to. This week’s challenge is: Green smoothie breakfast. I love green smoothies and it’s a great way to get in some fruit and veg throughout the day. If you’ve never had one before, here’s a quick example of one I’d regularly make:
-handful of spinach (raw, not frozen)
– 1 frozen banana
– handful of frozen strawberries
– 1 cup vanilla almond milk
– 1 scoop of your protein powder of choice.
Blend and enjoy!

I prefer to drink mine out of Coca Cola glasses or mason jars πŸ™‚

Well that wraps things up! I will do a video, hopefully tomorrow going more in depth but that’s all I got for now. And for the record, I typed this on my phone so please forgive any spelling/grammar weirdness. πŸ™‚
