There’s always gonna be another mountain. I’m always gonna wanna make it move. Always gonna be an uphill battle. Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose. It ain’t about how fast I get there. It ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side. It’s the climb.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Sometimes on your journey you will feel like you haven’t made the progress you should. I get discouraged often and want to quit sometimes.
In these times it is most important to remember why you started.
I spent my whole adolescence overweight. I couldn’t shop at the trendy stores. I couldn’t fit in with the rest of my classmates. I just wanted to be normal. But I lived and learned that normal was not for me.
So I took my poor heart and my bum knee and my low confidence, and decided that I wasn’t going to change for anyone other than me. I didn’t care about fitting in. I cared about being healthy. The moment I changed my perspective from aesthetics and societal acceptance, I began to see a change on the outside as well.
While I do have goals for how I want my body to look, my primary focus is and will continue to be my actual HEALTH. I do this because of the way it makes me feel, not because of the way it makes me look. And I will continue to strive for as long as I’m alive.
If you’re not being challenged you cannot grow.
Without struggle there can be no progress. I was shocked to see how far I have come when I saw this old picture. Remember where you’ve come from and focus on where you’re going. And always always always JUST KEEP SWIMMING! I challenge you to challenge YOU!
