Looking for a way to burn fat and spice up your cardio? Try high-intensity interval training (HIIT). I got a lot of my information from around the web, and personal experience, but I found some really great tips for this practice here.
In short, HIIT helps you burn more because you’re alternating between high intenstiy and medium to low intensity intervals. For example, if you were on the treadmill doing a HIIT workout you’d maybe do 3 minute intevals and split them like:
3min-3mph
3min-5mph
3min-3mph
2min-7mph
until your workout is complete.
This is just an example, but you get the idea. The point is to break it down between going at maximum capacity and giving your body recovery time.
In my personal experience, as someone with a short attention span, these can be the best workouts for cardio because you’re either pushing yourself really hard or you’re recovering. The constant switching prevents boredom, and it quickly improves your endurance. Not to mention, it keeps you burning fat throughout the day.
Has anyone tried HIIT? It’s my fav! And you don’t have to be fasted to get the same results 😉
What’s your favorite form of cardio?
Either way, get yo sweat on!
