I’m so grateful to have made another 365 days above ground. My birthday was Friday March 11 and it was nothing short of amazing. I appreciate all of my friends, family, and loved ones who reached out to me and showed me love. You have no idea how much that meant to me. This ride has been incredible, and I wish I could explain everything in detail, but I can’t. What I can do is give you 25 things I’ve picked up along the way.
- Trust God.
- Drink your water.
- Do what you want to do.
- Figure out what you like. Not what’s normal, but what YOU like.
- Figure out what you don’t like. Of course, you should try it before you decide you don’t like it.
- Apple cider vinegar will fix a lot of your problems.
- If it doesn’t contribute to the big picture of your goals, don’t do it if you don’t want to.
- If someone asks you to pray for them and you say you will, drop everything and pray for them immediately. Don’t wait and forget.
- Do not make announcements prematurely. In fact, shut up about a lot of things.
- Understand that people won’t always be happy for you when things don’t involve them. Keep in mind that other people’s behavior is on them and your behavior is on you. Sometimes you have to learn to pat your own back and not feel sorry for yourself while you’re doing it. Head up, shoulders back.
- Be more concerned with character than image. They are not interchangeable.
- You don’t have to break your neck and force something that’s for you.
- Support your friends. Support your family. However you define friends and family.
- Seasons change. Don’t be afraid to let things go.
- When you feel down dress up.
- Use your money wisely. Habits make a larger difference than salary.
- Cook!
- Get a morning routine and try to get it under 30 minutes.
- Don’t assume the worst of people. Nobody’s perfect, so try to see the good in people.
- Don’t be afraid of “negative” emotions. Fear, rejection, loneliness, disappointment, they’re all part of life. You will probably learn the most in times that make you feel these emotions. Appreciate them. They don’t last if you let them teach you what you’re supposed to learn.
- Do stuff that scares you.
- Take your own advice.
- Lick your wounds and keep pushing.
- Take off all of your enhancements and get butt naked then stare at yourself in the mirror. Fall in love with that person every single day.
- Everything will work out in due time. Ev-er-y-thing. Relax.
xoxo Kaisha
