I’m finally doing a favorites post! It only took me a whole year! 😉
I’m not a person who shops a ton or who feels like I have to try every new product under the sun (still haven’t even tried Fenty beauty) so I knew I wouldn’t have too much to post on it monthly. I can, however, share with you the fashion, beauty, and random other things that have been my favorites since I found them this year.
Some are new things, some are rediscoveries and some are old faithfuls that still need to be mentioned.
Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer Water– I got put on by Mo Knows Hair and have been in love since the first time I used it. It makes your skin smooth and glowy if you use it as a primer and sets your makeup if you spray it on afterwards as well.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation “Macao”– I have one of those skin tones that is a little hard to match because I’m brown with yellow undertones. The girls at makeup counters always go too light on me, but I was matched at Sephora and love this foundation for me. It looks very skin like and doesn’t feel heavy or cake up. Over the months it has oxidized a little bit so it’s started to look a tad orangey on me, but a little bit goes a long way so it isn’t too bad.
LORAC alter ego lipgloss “Goddess”– I’m currently out of stock but this is the perfect everyday lipgloss for me. It gives a little pink color but it’s not overwhelming or chalky on my skin tone. Love it!
Almond Oil– I’ve switched to this as my moisturizer and don’t go a single day without it. Jarell has even requested his own bottle so he doesn’t have to share with me anymore lol.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder– This helps me set my foundation on my oily days without having to add more color and turning orange. It gives that pretty airbrushed finish.
Jennifer Lopez Rose Duster (sold out but similar)– I mean…it’s extra and it’s cute.
Juicy Couture Booties (sold out but similar) – I’ve worn these at least once a week for 4 seasons. I’ve never had a shoe this versatile and comfortable.
Steve Madden Slip-Ons- I throw these on all the time with everything. They’re cute and casual, which is my style.
Refuge Black Jeans– My black jeans fade so easily because I love, wear, and wash them so much. This affordable pair hasn’t let me down!
Michael Kors White puffy coat (similar)– Jarell actually surprised me with this coat one evening. It’s really cute in person and I’ve been taking full advantage of all the cold days we’ve been experiencing this year. I get compliments every single time I wear it.
Mielle Organics Honey & Ginger Styling Gel– I have been able to achieve more definition with wash and go’s and twist outs since I started using this product. It smells lovely and is super water soluble so it doesn’t build up after a few days. It has become part of my daily regimen.
LUV Pro ceramic flat iron– Found it on Groupon for $20 and haven’t had any heat damage at all. The last time I flat ironed my hair it lasted almost two weeks.
The Wire- Jarell got me into this show and I’m hooked!
Iphone 8 plus– I upgraded in November (not worried about the X lol). It felt like a tablet at first but now I LOVE the huge display.
Apple Music– Bit the bullet and got the subscription and it’s LIT.
Our Surprise Engagement– I was soooo confused! When my brain finally stopped spinning I could hardly take it all in. It was incredible!
Our Wedding– Magic! Everything didn’t go perfectly but the day still turned out perfectly! This marked the first day of our lives together as one.
Our Honeymoon– It was as hot as humans can stand but we had an amazing time and got to experience living together. I get giddy when I think back and look at the pics from this time! It was soooo special.
Our First Holidays! We did a lot of firsts this year. We spent the holidays together last year as well but this was our first time married which is completely different. I honestly felt so blessed and elated to get to experience this with Jarell as my husband. I look forward to so many more.
That’s all folks!
The next time you hear from me will be in 2018. In the meantime, I hope you stop and reflect on your year, set some goals for the next, and ring in the New Year doing something with the people you love. It’s been a great ride in 2017 and we’re only getting better.
See you next year!
