I know that everyone wants to hit the ground running since the New Year has started. We’re all excited for a fresh start. While some people have their entire year planned out and are ready to shift gears and take off, others are still stuck wondering where the time went and what’s next?
For those people, it’s not too late to get in order. Although the new calendar year has begun, it’s still winter time and old things are still dying off. That means, it’s not too late (it’s NEVER too late) for you to come up with a plan.
Now is just as good a time as any to take inventory of your life. It’s high time to decide who you want to be, and what you want, then create actionable steps toward that vision.
Some of my favorite ways to get my mind right for the year are:
Write down your goals
Instead of letting everything float around in your head forever, writing your goals down makes them more tangible to you. Try listing them out and organizing them by category. Then break your big goals down into bite size steps you can easily knock out and cross of your list.
Get a planner!
I recommend getting something that’s fun and functional. My roommate got me this really cute Dayna Lee Collection planner that even comes with stickers I can put on the calendar. I’m excited to be able to use the stickers alone, but I love that it also begins the month with a place to write goals and to-do’s. Something like this helps you set dates for all of those goals you set.
Create a vision board
Y’all know I make one every year. It serves as a visual representation of all the things I need to focus on throughout the year. Hang it somewhere you have to walk by every day so you can’t help but see it. You’ll be subconsciously reminded of your goals whether you like it or not. Make it fun and host a vision board party with your friends!
No matter how you chose to do it, I wish all of you prosperity this year. May it be filled with love and peace. May you spend time with yourself and unlock your purpose. I hope you follow your passion into a life you can’t wait to share. A life that you and you alone are proud to live. Forget all the comparisons that you’ve made to others or the expectations that have been thrust upon you and create your own masterpiece.
It’s going to be a great year. I can feel it.
