Hello all! Long time no talk,I know. Hope everyone is doing well and I hope you haven’t missed me too much. 🙂
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a natural hair expo in DeSoto. It was my first one ever and was held in the DeSoto civic center.
It was definitely a smaller event and we got there a couple of hours late (shameful) so we had to walk in the Texas summer sun to get inside. Parking was limited. I am a hot and sweaty gal so it wasn’t my cup of tea. All in all it was s fun experience. Well, aside from the guy trying to sell me his all natural products of which none came with ingredients listed on the bottles. He touched my hair. Like, what kind of man tries to sell products at a natural hair even and touches a woman’s hair?! ESPECIALLY without permission. You should know better buddy.
Anywho, I didn’t get the full experience because we got there so late. We were also exhausted and starving and were trying to keep ourselves from passing out. We did get lots of samples and business cards which will be helpful. The Miss Jessie’s were there but they ran off before I could get a picture. I got a dope t-shirt that I’ll picture later. Note to anyone going to a natural hair expo: natural, home based products ain’t cheap so make sure you stock up your wallet before you get there.
I’m not going to rate my experience because it was far from ideal. It was an interesting day overall. Let me not start about my Applebee’s experience. I hope I’m not making it sound like I didn’t have fun. I did. But it was my company that kept me in good spirits. I was unprepared for the day and wish I could do it all over again…very differently lol.
I did enjoy seeing all the jewelry and fabulous afro sisters walking around. I saw some meeeeean locs, braids, puffs, twists, and fros. I felt right at home.
Has anyone else had…interesting hair expo experiences?
Enjoy some pics!
